Privacy Policy for Urdu Typer
Effective date: 26 May 2026. Supersedes the previous version dated 20 April 2024.
Introduction
Droid Mechanics, the developer of Urdu Typer (the “App”), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how it is used.
Since the previous version of this Policy we have added a subscription feature, optional sign-in, and a reading feature called Qalam ka Jahan. This Policy has been refreshed to describe the limited additional data those features involve.
What the App Does
Urdu Typer is an Urdu-language keyboard, document editor, and reading app. Anything you type in the editor stays on your device and is never sent to us. Subscriptions are sold through Google Play.
Data We Handle
- An anonymous device identifier so the App can apply your free trial and remember your subscription on this device.
- Your subscription status, received from Google Play.
- If you choose to sign in, your email address so your subscription transfers between devices. Sign-in is optional.
- Anonymous usage signals (which posts you read or like in the reading feature) so we can improve the app.
- Standard app diagnostics — device model, OS version, app version, and crash logs — used to fix bugs.
We do not collect your name, contacts, photos, location, or what you type.
How We Use This Information
Only to run the App: keep your subscription working, fix bugs, decide which posts are popular in the reading feature, and respond to support questions you send us. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it.
Sharing
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertising networks. We rely on Google's Firebase and Play Billing platforms to run the App; data they receive is governed by their own policies.
Your Choices
- You can use the App without signing in.
- You can cancel your subscription any time on Google Play.
- You can clear the App's data from Android Settings to remove anything stored locally on your device.
- You can write to us to request deletion of any personal data we hold.
Age Restriction (18+)
Urdu Typer is intended for adult users aged 18 and over. The App is not directed to, and should not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data Security
Your documents are stored on your device. Data we send to our backend is transmitted over HTTPS. While we take reasonable measures to protect information, no transmission or storage method is 100% secure.

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version always lives at the public URL of this page. Material changes are reflected by an updated “Effective date” at the top.
